I’m a freelance and want to go on a training course. Will you fund it?
Screen East will consider applications for training from freelancers. You must demonstrate that the training activity is integral to your career development and is appropriate to your experience and technical knowledge.

I would like funding support for a training course next week? Can you fund it afterwards?
No. Retrospective applications for funding training activities are ineligible. You must forward plan for your training activity and application.

How much can I apply for?
Individual training bursaries are available for up to £5,000 but are subject to your status as a company or an individual. See our RIFE funding guidelines for more details.

What’s the minimum level I can apply for training?
£500. However you must demonstrate that you are funding a proportion of the total cost yourself.

Do I just fill in the application form to apply for training funding?
No. You must also demonstrate how and why this training activity is appropriate to your career development. You will also need to identify the learning outcomes of the training and a write a training/development plan for the next 12 months.

Do you have a work experience programme?
Yes, we run a work experience programme in our locations department throughout the year.
During term time a lot of placements are reserved for 15-16 year olds. However, we do offer opportunities to 17-19 year olds or adults interested in learning more about sourcing locations
for film and TV production. If you are interested, please contact us for more information.
This programme operates on an un-paid basis, however we may be able to pay travel expenses
in some circumstances.
